The purpose of the
Society shall be to collect, preserve, publish and disseminate
materials having reference to the settlement and history of Jews in
Texas and their participation in its social, economic, religious,
political, professional and cultural growth. Please read about the history
of the Society.
The Texas Jewish Historical Society welcomes any
information you might have concerning Texas Jewish History. Please send
any and all such information to our address above. We will acknowledge
and document the sender and place the information in the Center for
American History archive at the University of Texas for public access.
We thank you for keeping our heritage alive.
The winter meeting will be in La Grange the weekend
of January 9-11, 2009. The weekend includes Kabbalat Shabbat at Temple
Israel in Schulenburg, a visit to historic Round Top, a tour of Jewish
La Grange and its old Jewish cemetery, and a performance at The Bugle
Boy, the premier listening room in Texas. For more
